Michael James didn't set out to become an herbalist. He got there because he ran out of other options.
He was in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer, and the treatment he was given made the bleeding worse. Lying there watching it happen, he started asking a question he'd never had reason to ask before: what else is there?
That question turned into a life's work. He went looking for answers outside what he'd been offered, and found herbology — and then he did something most people never do with a personal crisis. He got trained.
Dr. James earned his Chartered Herbalist and Master Herbalist designations from Dominion Herbal College in British Columbia — founded in 1926 and the oldest school of herbal medicine in North America. It is a designated institution under British Columbia's Ministry of Post-Secondary Education.
Dominion's graduates and students have included some of the most recognized names in American herbalism: Dr. John Christopher, Dr. Bernard Jensen, Jethro Kloss, and Dr. Earl Mindell.
From 1985 until his passing, Dr. James ran a clinical practice in New Mexico. The people who found him were often the ones who'd been told there was nothing more to be done — who'd been through the tests, the referrals, the appointments, and were still looking for something that would help. He never forgot what that felt like, because he'd been one of them.
The formulas in this catalog came out of that work. Not a boardroom, not a trend report — real people sitting across from him with real problems, and years of refining what actually nourished them back toward health.
That's what's in the bottle. Not a claim about quality. A man's answer to his own worst night, turned into forty years of helping other people find theirs.
