Top 5 Stress Busters: Manage your stress before it manages you

Posted by Lynn Applegate on

StressWow, has life been stressful lately! Between tax season, getting my garden ready, running our own business and a house to run there is a lot of stress floating around. Good stress and bad stress alike!

The other day was particularly stressful with a lot going on and some deadlines I had to meet. Halfway through the day I was so emotionally spent that I couldn't even think straight. I had had days like this before and handled it fine. I wandered what was different today? Why wasn't I coping?

As I wallowed in my “pit of despair" I realized that I had been working so hard that I was forgetting to take care of myself. I had been lazy with eating healthy food and definitely hadn't gotten enough sleep. I hadn't taken the time to exercise, not to mention that I had forgotten to take my vitamins for a few days.

Thinking about all of my failures didn't help me feel any less stressed and it added more to my, already huge to do list. I needed stress relief and I needed it now!

Top 5 Stress Busters

Happy stress1- Exercise can actually help to calm your nerves and get your circulation moving. If you are stressed take the time to take a short walk outside (a little fresh air never hurt anyone), rebound, turn some music on and have a mini dance party or walk in place in your cubical. Some people actually get flu like symptoms when they are stressed and exercise can elevate the symptoms.

2- Chillin is an herbal formula that I can’t live without. It calms frazzled nerves almost instantly without the side effects of the drugs that claim the same calming effect. I take 2 a day and more as needed depending on my stress load.
This herbal formula is a must have if you have a stressful life.

3- Raw fruits and veggies Whole grains and green leafy veggies have the building blocks your nervous systems need to cope with life’s challenges. Do yourself a favor and eat Veggies, fruits and whole grains as often as possible and especially when you are stressed. It will make you feel a lot better, in the long run, than a doughnut or candy bar.

4- Nerquilizer is another herbal formula that I can’t live without. Nerquilizer provides the nutrients your nervous system needs to stay healthy and strong for the battles ahead. Because I know that my diet can’t be perfect all the time, I take nerquilizer daily (unless I forget), to insure that my nervous system is kept in tip top shape.

5- B vitamins are what your nerves use to keep them healthy. When you are under stress your body uses up its B vitamin reserves. So, by taking a good quality, food source, B vitamin it helps to maintain nerve health. Veggies high in B vitamins are avocados, asparagus, brussels sprouts, spinach...
